4 Ways To Stop Drug Addiction

People always tend to think that once a drug addict will always be a drug addict but I dare to object. It may not always be a success, but it is obviously possible. Here, we have a list of guidelines to help drug addicts find their way home.

            1.) Eliminate Prejudice

Prejudice is prejudgment, or forming an opinion before becoming aware of the relevant facts of a case.
Being a Drug addict, it is understandable that there would be times that you would be so unsure of yourself leading that you would always think ahead of everything. Knowing that what you're doing is not right, you will find yourself creating scenarios of outcome you wouldn't like even before you take action. This should be stopped because it will refrain you from doing the right things because the fear of failing would consume you.

            2.) Have Faith in Yourself

Believing in yourself could really make wonders in your life. Being a drug addict, there would always be a time where you would feel so alone, left behind and empty. People would abandon you or worse, betray you. But the worst would always be when you would give up in yourself. How people see you doesn't matter compared to what you see in yourself. When there is still hope and you know it, don't let go. If you want to change your life, it would always be up to you.

3.) Have things in your life that you deeply care about

Having something that you are passionate about could motivate you to stay physically healthy and mentally in shape. Be it your family, friends or lover. Make sure that they are of good influence. It could inspire you to stop your addiction and make your life right. Do so that it would make you love yourself more enough to make you forget about taking drugs ever again. Cherish what you have and think about what you would continue to lose if you ever continue your drug addiction. Opportunity costs.

4.) Write down reasons for Quitting

Simply sitting and writing down things could help you find the answers you are looking for. Start with listing the harmful effects of your addiction. Realizing how messed up it makes you could be your jumpstart towards changing your behaviour. It is also helpful to list down the positive changes you think you could achieve when you actually quit because it would also serve as an inspiration to push through.

  1. I really dont see the point why people take drugs though they knew its negative side effects. Truly this blog would be a great help for those addicts who happen to cross away their path to nirvana. Nonetheless, its never too late to restore a an addict's life and start a new vice-free life

  4. I believe that they are in need of someone who cares and spends more time in listening to what really is hurting them. I think that what they really need most is to know that someone is there for them who can make them realize that they are worthy of being loved and that they still can be a better person by telling them honestly that drugs is not an outlet for happiness. I suppose that one way to make them have a better life is by telling them to recall back their dreams and goals to achieve in life.

  5. Were you a drug addict or have you met one? These guidelines may be helpful. But only to those who are willing. To tell you frankly, quitting is very difficult. The feeling of craving is just to hard to bear and I have friends who made desperate measures just to buy one. It's just too difficult when your psychological wants become your needs.

I understand it is hard but if i can help even a little especially for those who are really determined to change, I would really want to share with them all the ways I could think of and so is this blog :) thank you for your comment.
